How to Apply False Eyelashes Correctly

by Kim Snyder

It is important to know how to apply false eyelashes appropriately so it can be effective in giving you stunning and batting eyelashes. If inappropriately applied, it can appear as uneven and will be noticeable as fake eyelashes. False eye lashes are available in various beauty shops with different varieties as to its color, shape and size.
There are dozens and dozens of brands to choose from, and several types of lashes (full set, clumps, or individual lashes). This array of choices will make it easy to apply false eye lashes, and achieve the look you want to create.
Depending on your natural skin tone, you can choose dark brown or black colored eye lashes so it cannot be noticeable as fake. False Lashes these days are not like those from the 80’s. If you apply them correctly no one will know you are even wearing them!
The number one rule of thumb in knowing how to apply false eyelashes is cleaning the eye area before application of the false eyelashes. The adhesive part of the eye lashes will not stick if there are any remnants of oil or make up on your skin
Asses if the false eye lashes have the same size as your eyes. You can test this by pressing the fake eyelashes against your natural line lash. If there are part of the fake eyelashes that goes beyond your natural lash line, use a cuticle scissors to cut that excess part. Make sure to cut only the extended part as not to give you too short false eyelashes. Only cut one or two lashes at a time to make sure you trim off the exact length of the excess part only.
Apply the adhesive to the false eyelashes slowly making sure to apply a full coat of glue. It would be easy to glide the glue into the line that holds the fake lashes together. if you cannot do this, you can use a toothpick to apply the adhesive to the fake eyelashes. Since the false eyelashes in the corner comes loose easily, it is best to apply enough glue on both ends of the false eyelashes.
Give time for the adhesive to dry a little bit because it needs to be tacky before application. Applying the fake lashes with wet glue will cause the fake lashes to slide off making it fall in an odd position. However, you must make sure as well that the adhesive glue does not completely dry. Check if the adhesive is sticky to touch, then you can apply the false eyelashes.
Attach the false eyelashes to your eyelids and close your eyes gently. Make sure to place them as near to your lash line as possible, without making them stick directly to your lashes. Press lightly and let it dry for 30 seconds. Fill the empty spaces between the fake lashes and your eyelashes by painting liquid eyeliner to cover up the gaps. Blend the fake and your natural eyelashes together by using eyeliner to cover up the mild discrepancy in the color. The steps on how to apply false eyelashes ends here. Try it on and see the best results.
